INFORMATION YOU SHOULD KNOW
Great care is taken in the packaging of our doli’s & caddies and we will not knowingly ship packages with damaged or defective goods. In the past we have suggested ways to receive your packages. Following is the most recent memo sent to our customers. Please make yourself aware of these policies.
SUBJECT:
DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
We can no longer be held responsible for damages that occur
during shipping. In the past we have always attached a letter with shipments
apprizing our customers of the best way of signing for orders. We try our
utmost to pack your orders carefully and securely. We want our doli’s &
caddies to arrive complete and un-damaged the same as you do.
Freight companies are
denying all claims that are signed "free and clear".
That means, if you just sign your name without looking at
the shipment, you're saying everything was OK. Even if the exterior of your
shipments look OK, it doesn't mean there can't be concealed damages inside.
Please, if you can't take the time to completely inspect the shipment while the
carrier is present, just note this on the bill of lading. This is going to
protect us both later. My suggestion is this... at the bottom of this memo is a
copy of a rubber stamp that we use here at Hines Pottery. It's well worth the
$20.00.
